Speaking of Insomnia

My little family and I got home at around 8:30 from getting to see my sweet baby girl. See previous post for all of the beautiful pictures! I am so thankful for the gift of reassurance that she is doing great! We got to see her (on 2d) move her hands right up by her face, we got to see her smile, we got to see her moving and shaking, and we got to do it together. What they are offering is more than just getting images of your baby to be... It is getting to know them! I can't even believe that I know so much about someone I have not even had the chance to meet yet. I will be honest with you though, I am nervous! She was VERY non-compliant! :) I think that her dad and I may have our hands full in the many years to come! :) Anyways! We made record bed time routine time and were all cuddled up by 9:15.... We were all ready for sleep and fell asleep quickly.

At 3:00am I hear my sweet three year olds voice...

He whispers "Mommy- my underwear are wet..."
I quietly ask him... "did you have an accident?"
He replies "No, I must have spilled on my underwear"
Puzzled I asked him "What did you spill baby"
He replied "I don't know, I just must have"

Alright, so I take him in the bathroom, change his clothes, and clean him up... SHORTLY after, he decided that EVEN though it was dark outside it was time to get up! I was so disappointed! Sleep that had been so elusive the past few nights had come easily and stayed! I wanted to go back to sleep. He asked me if he could have a snack. I told him we would eat breakfast in the morning and we were going to lay back down. I have to give it to him, he surely did try to lay still but he was just too awake to go back to sleep! SO... I put in Madagascar 3 which happens to be his movie of choice this month! So now we are laying here watching a movie, he is so happy and so content. The only thing in the world he wants is for me to hold him close! I am lucky. I am lucky because I have had a fairly complication free pregnancy, a little boy who is sick but doesn't have a clue. I have a little boy who absolutely loves his mama and believes I can make everything better! I have a little boy who has a very serious illness BUT his symptoms are well maintained by medications. I have a husband who just got a promotion and works hard to provide for us. I am up at now 4 am. But my blessings far outweigh my challenges. My life is far from perfect but it is far more than I could ever ask for.

:)
